Meet our 2022 Passion. Purpose. Possibilities Honorees!
Ms. Omolara Alao - Ezobi is a Wife, Mom, Globe-trotter, Leader, and the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Serenity Health. A healthcare organization that employs over 700 individuals, of which 75% are women.
Lara earned her bachelor’s degree in Banking & Finance from the University of Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria. She went on to earn her nursing degree from Morton College (Chicago, IL), MBA from Argosy University (Chicago, IL) and in December, 2022 received an Honorary Doctorate Degree.
Prior to becoming COO at Serenity, Lara filled about every role in the office which has helped her lead effectively in her role as COO. Her commitment to the organization was made evident when she and her brother, Ayowale, first purchased Serenity in 2012, they had to go without cutting themselves a check for 18 months so they could pay expenses (including payroll) and keep the lights on.
Serenity has just celebrated its tenth year anniversary after acquisition. This is largely in part to Lara’s servant leadership style and empathetic approach to business and healthcare. She is compassionate, understanding and inspiring. That’s why her unofficial title at Serenity is “The Oracle.”
Outside of work, Lara recognizes the importance of connection and community. For the last 18 years, every Sunday Lara and her family invite friends, family and community members to their home for a place of connection. In a world that can be lonely, Lara wants to ensure people around her have a place they can engage with others and feel at “home”.
She claims much of her success to hard work, dedication, consistency and a loving family, especially her husband, Mr. Peter Ezobi.
Thank you to our 2022 partners!
